Hi!

After an extended period of hibernation, I'm finally preparing to release my first single of 2024, AU CONTRAIRE! Similar to my last major single, I will be releasing it on my shop, Bandcamp and Newgrounds a day before it officially releases on streaming services. That means you will all get to hear it on February 22nd!

If you're a Geometry Dash fan, I believe this is the one song of mine that will pique your interest.

Here's where you can pre-save.

Here's the credits:

w. Alaska Sargent
p. Alaska Sargent, Azalea Bettigole (Shifting Perspectives), Aero Pathrose (a.pathrose)

If you want to listen to it up to one week early, you can support the song's pre-order release on Bandcamp! For only a dollar, you'll be able to get a bonus track, a stripped-down rendition and alternate artwork! It's Bandcamp Friday, so all funds would support me directly!

ALSO! Huge thank you to @littlbox for including me in their latest mix of Newgrounds audio. I feel very happy to have been included in a space where an audio community can thrive, as its also given me the opportunity to explore other artists that I've never heard of before but absolutely adore their output.

You can listen to the mix here.

Okay, that's it! Thank you guys for continuing to be amazing.

TLDR: The songs I removed from my page were made with no passion, and I want to revive my creative spirit on Newgrounds.

Hello. I am Alaska Sargent.

A couple years ago I went by the last name Belle on all platforms. In that time, I made a mix of electronic and hyperpop music. I turned that into a brand that turned out to be limiting. It felt impossible to grow as an artist in that form, and for the remainder of 2021 following that realization, I began making electronic-oriented music that I didn't truly believe in, my passion wasn't all the way there.

Come the beginning of 2022, I wiped everything with that Belle name on it as a result of my resentment, pretty much wiped the slate clean. That's the main reason why I abandoned Newgrounds for over a year and a half. Over the past few months, however, I've been beginning to grow a change of heart, and I have decided to return to these places and allow myself to be seen as an actual human being again. Unfortunately, to me, that had to involve deleting some of those tracks that felt soulless in origin.

Even if there were Geometry Dash levels made for these songs that were being adored by dozens, it didn't sit right with me to imagine these people spending their creative passion on projects where I felt almost nothing. I want my music to be authentic and from the heart, and that's what I have committed to for the past year.

So, allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Alaska, I am an indie musician and I am committed to making music I believe in.

Thanks for reading, I'm happy to be back on here.
